Biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca wanted a building lobby that could multitask and function well beyond its traditional role as just an entrance. The space had to serve various functions and reflect the company’s culture of collaboration. Francis Cauffman designed a lobby that allowed for multiple uses by providing spaces and seating arrangements for informal meetings, touchdown areas, and vendor displays. Employees can even section off a part of the lobby using a retractable partition, creating an area that remains undisturbed by people entering and exiting the building.
