New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and The Roswell Park Cancer Institute for Genetics and Pharmacology (Buffalo Life Sciences Complex)
University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Cancer Institute
Buffalo, New York / 290,000 square feet
Scientists who undertake groundbreaking research toward curing cancer and other diseases require innovative and collaborative places for focused exploration and discovery. That’s just what Francis Cauffman designed for the University at Buffalo and the Roswell Park Cancer Institute - a new research complex that brings the public university and the private research center together in partnership. The building houses the Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics, one of several New York State-funded research centers that focuses on emerging high-tech fields. Francis Cauffman integrated computational research facilities and traditional lab space with collaborative areas to help transform scientific research quickly for patients that need them. The building is also certified LEED Silver.
