This client retained FCA to design a new 2-story, 30,000 square foot Bariatric Institute to create a new home for this growing population. The existing institute had outgrown its current location. The new building, with approximately 15,000 gross square feet per floor, will be positioned on a greenfield site with a dedicated patient drop-off and pick-up zone, with discreet entrances and exits.
Level 1 of the new building will accommodate 1,900 square feet of food and nutrition counseling space, a demonstration kitchen, a 4,300 square foot bio-skills lab, a boutique and retail pharmacy, a public lobby and support space, in addition to the institute’s administrative offices for schedulers and referral coordinators, in addition to supports spaces. The new lobby will feature a café and conference spaces, convenient for patients and families.
Level 2 of the building will accommodate the bariatric program imaging services, including a fluoroscopy room. The new bariatric practice will accommodate approximately 7,400 square feet, including 16 exam rooms and support spaces. A new 4,000 square foot, 8-exam room Obesity practice will round out the occupancy on this level.
