FCA partnered with world-renowned Johns Hopkins Medicine and the Division of Infectious Diseases to provide a state-of-the-art diagnostic and anti-infective therapies facility. The 25-exam-room clinic co-locates services for patients with an array of infectious diseases, including infections obtained after transplantation or on medical devices, HIV, and viral hepatitis. In addition to the various multidisciplinary sub-specialists within the clinic, facilities were created to accommodate a nutritionist, an on-site pharmacy, phlebotomy services, an 18-bay infusion suite, and a full complement of social work and case managers.
The design incorporated Johns Hopkins patient registration kiosks to streamline the registration process for patients. These patients with complex treatment regimens can be treated at a single location, improving their care by creating more coordinated treatment plans across disciplines. The stress on patients who must attend multiple physician appointments is also alleviated by this multidisciplinary approach.
