A massive 10-year phased renovation modernized laboratory and research facilities in the historic Sterling Hall of Medicine. Our team completed the Master Plan Study for the entire Sterling Hall of Medicine building including envelope, infrastructure, and code upgrades. The study was the blueprint for the floor-by-floor laboratory renovations covering approximately 190,000 SF.
In the first major effort by the School of Medicine to strategically upgrade its existing research facilities, our team provided laboratory programming and design for the comprehensive renovation of the B-, C- and I-Wing laboratory and office space. The Analysis Plans informed a coherent approach in developing the campus. Unique departmental identity linked to specific research was balanced with the University mission. Wing by wing, floor by floor, phased renovations were thus integrated.
