A community atrium forms the heart of the Tagliatela Academic Center at Albertus Magnus College. This facility provides classrooms and laboratory spaces for chemistry, biology, technology, art, and education. The atrium opens to a courtyard that provides a link to Walsh Hall, formerly a 19th-century carriage house. As part of this project, the removal of a 1960s addition enabled the restoration of this carriage house, and Walsh Hall now houses a new arts studio and gallery as well as a small chapel. The progressive scale and rhythm of the facility’s massing helped weave together two previously disconnected sections of the campus.
