FCA designed Fox Rothschild’s Raleigh office as a sophisticated, client-centered workplace where legal professionalism meets modern hospitality. Located at 301 Hillsborough Street, the design pairs a disciplined architectural framework with warmth, texture, and sculptural detail to create an elevated yet approachable environment.
Inspired by Raleigh’s identity as the “City of Oaks,” oak becomes a defining thread throughout the workplace. At reception, positioned within the building core to preserve perimeter daylight for attorney offices and conference spaces, a custom feature wall transforms the interior arrival experience. Illuminated acrylic fins abstracted from the profile of a White Oak leaf are layered against oak, creating a luminous focal point and memorable sense of place.
A rich material palette of oak flooring and veneer, detailed stone, textured felt and fabric, custom wallcoverings, and decorative lighting brings depth and tactile character to client and workplace areas. While a clear, rectilinear plan supports efficient circulation and functionality, curved ceiling elements, sculptural detailing, and softened furniture forms introduce movement and residential comfort.
The result is a distinctive legal workplace balancing precision with softness, professionalism with hospitality, and contemporary design with Raleigh’s regional identity.
